Welcome to our breathtaking, private, natural hot spring water spa experience in the mountains outside of Idaho Springs, Colorado!
Raspberry Hot Springs is a single hot spring pool tucked into the forest on our 30-acre private ranch . Each soak is exclusive and private to each reservation - you don’t share the water with anyone outside your group.
We do not accept walk-ins; you must have a reservation in advance.
Prior to booking, please read up on the experience we offer, as well as our terms, waiver, and conditions.
In brief, this is a 21+ private hot spring with no lifeguard on duty. We are situated at 9,000 feet. 4WD/AWD with 7+ inches of ground clearance is required to access this private mountain ranch. This is not a suggestion! It is an absolute requirement, and is part of the agreement all guests sign prior to booking. You will encounter one mile of steep dirt roads in the final ascent to Raspberry Hot Springs. If you get stuck on this road, it is not just an inconvenience to us and our other guests for the day - blocking this road could prevent other members of our mountain community from getting to work, getting supplies from town, or even getting medical attention. Also, keep in mind that AAA does not cover tows for cars stuck on dirt roads, and most towing companies will not go off-road at all. It is very important that all of our guests honor this requirement.
On active snow days we cancel all appointments and issue full refunds or assist guests in rescheduling their soak. Even If snow accumulation is only 1-2 inches and/or there are icy sections on the dirt roads that would be dangerous to traverse in a vehicle with appropriate winter tires. Due to the rocky, uneven surface of the access roads, plowing often leaves sections of compacted snow. While this small amount of snow and ice wouldn't normally be difficult to traverse in most vehicles on pavement or flat dirt roads, the combined challenge of icy conditions and steep narrow dirt roads makes this access extremely precarious during inclement weather.
Approaching the Ranch from Dakota Ridge Road Access on an Autumn evening.
We (Alex and Alyssa) live up here at the Ranch full-time and have Snow Tires or studded, 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake Rated All-Terrain tires on all of our 4WD vehicles. If conditions are deemed traversable for vehicles with Snow Tires, All-Terrain tires with a 3PMSF rating (symbolized by a snowflake inside a mountain peak), or tires equipped with chains, we will not close for the day.
We will reach out before your soak (often in the morning, but sometimes in the afternoon for evening soaks to allow for changes in conditions) to inform you if road conditions are such that All-Season tires will not be sufficient to make it up here for your soak.
MOST RENTAL CARS HAVE ALL-SEASON TIRES! These are truly 3-season tires! All-season tires are really just tires, they are built for the mildest conditions of all seasons, which is where they get their name. This article from Canada Drives compares All-Season, All-Weather, and Winter (Snow) Tires very well. 7 degrees Celcius is about 45 degrees Fahrenheit - All-Season tires are not constructed for conditions below 45 degrees, nor do they have proper siping for driving on snow.
For this reason, we recommend booking a car through Turo, which allows you to guarantee that you will be renting a vehicle with winter tires. The other advantage of Turo is that you can book a vehicle for just a few hours! We have had guests book last-minute Turo rental cars on snowy days, enabling them to zip up to the Springs from Denver and enjoy a safe, fun mountain adventure.
NOTE: We do not permit last-minute rescheduling or cancelations due to not having appropriate winter tires or chains on a day when they are needed to reach the Ranch.
If we are closed due to hazardous driving conditions, it will be posted in the Announcement bar, as well as on the Road Conditions page. We will text the number we have on file for you. If you don't confirm, we will then call and email to make sure you know not to come. For this reason, please book your reservation with your primary mobile phone so that you are able to receive important updates.
Text or email is the best way to reach us for a fast response. Send questions to:

When it comes to hazardous driving conditions, we almost always close. That said, if there is a travel advisory for your area, please let us know and we will help you cancel or reschedule your appointment. We always prioritize the safety and well-being of our guests over staying booked.
Please note that our cancelation policy applies to all reservations. We require 72 hours notice for a full refund (subject to cancelation fees) or to reschedule your appointment. See our Cancelation Policy page for more details.
If you must cancel within 72 hours but we are able to rebook your canceled appointment, we will issue a full refund to you. However, your refund will still be subject to cancelation fees.
We would like remind you that:
4WD/AWD with 7 inches is a REQUIREMENT, NOT a suggestion. All Season Tires are Not Snow Tires.
Snow and winter conditions may force us to close - full refunds will be issued if we cancel your appointment.
And finally, please remember that reservations are required to soak - we do not accommodate walk-ins.
If you'd like to book a soak, click the button at the top of this page to access our rates and availability. Hope to see you up at the ranch!
